Psalm 122
1 I was glad when they said to me:
‘Let us go to the house of the Lord.’
2 And now our feet are standing:
within your gates, O Jerusalem;
3 Jerusalem which is built as a city:
where the pilgrims gather in unity.
4 There the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord:
as he commanded Israel,
to give thanks to the name of the Lord.
5 There are set thrones of judgement:
the thrones of the house of David.
6 O pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
may those who love you prosper.
7 Peace be within your walls:
and prosperity in your palaces.
8 For the sake of my kindred and companions:
I will pray that peace be with you.
9 For the sake of the house of the Lord our God:
I will seek for your good.
